Quartz

Pronounced kw-orts

Quartz is one of the most common minerals on earth. Amethyst, chalcedony, carnelian, citrine, rose quartz, smokey quartz and ametrine and all quartzes, defined only by their color differences. Quartz also appears frequently as an inclusion in other minerals. Composed of silica (Silicon Dioxide), quartz forms in crystalline structures as a cluster of points. Points are often separated from the structures and sold in new age stores.

Points, in a metaphysical sense, are perfect for drawing power to or from a source, directing energies as intended. One point per crystal is most common, with one at either end far more rarely occurring. Once a fragment has been broken away from its source, the crystal can still grow to a limited extent. When the broken end of a point appears frosty instead of glassy, it is referred to as "healed" and in some disciplines counts as a second point on the crystal. Many crystal points available in stores are carved, and not naturally occurring. Go to a reputable store and discuss the process with an attendant if you specifically require a natural-formed piece.

Quartz is the most powerful crystal there is for healing and amplifying energy. It raises energies submitted to it to the highest level possible, aids concentration, and unlocks memories.
