Sapphire

While blue is the most well known hue. sapphire naturally occurs in a large variety of colors. The red version is called Ruby, and the pink/orange version is called Padparadscha. It is one of the most desired gemstones, along with ruby, emerald and diamond. Found throughout South East Asia, Australian and parts of Africa, sapphires are not only mined, but can be found in river mud and on the ground. It is very popular in Indian jewelry.
Sapphire is known as the wisdom stone, which helps to focus and calm the mind and release depression.
