Totally unrelated to jewelry today, I thought I'd post a handful of pictures from my walk around Filoli in Redwood City. The house was occupied by a families from 1917 to 1975, then gifted to the National Trust for Historic Preservation and opened to the public. With over 600 acres, the grounds are incredible. Walking into the house feels like you've stepped into a Pride and Prejudice set, and the gardens are absolutely spectacular.

Here are a few images from the gardens. Flash and tripods are not permitted inside the house, so I couldn't get anything decent within.

A pair of doves live in the Garden House, within a huge wire cage. They were very friendly little birds and must love the attention they get from the hundreds of visitors that pour through the grounds.

A pair of stone eagles sat over a gated wall that divided two of the gardens. The garden grounds are segmented into different designs, such as a full rose garden, a cutting garden, orchards, and different terraces.

Every detail helps tie the gardens together. Similar colored flowers line the main walk up through the center of the grounds and small statues of fruits line the stairs.

Trees lining the jetted pool were clipped to create the statuesque look.
